- What is "Four Now - Four Later"?
"Four Now - Four Later" (4N4L) is a loom shipped with four shafts installed, and with the capacity to add an additional four shafts. You can purchase a kit to add four shafts at a later time. 4N4L looms are shipped with all the heddles, tie-ups and other items normally included with an eight harness loom.
- I'm buying a used four shaft loom. Can I add four shafts to it?
Looking down at the loom from above, if the loom has empty channels in the castle, then you can add four shafts. If there are no empty channels, then you cannot add shafts. A four shaft loom (without the empty channels) cannot be converted to an eight shaft loom.
